100th birthday of renowned French anthropologist and founder of structuralism Claude Lévi-Strauss is a particularly good occasion to remind ourselves once again of the enormous intellectual significance of his scientific work. Following numerous critical readings, deconstruction, and destruction of structuralism in anthropology, this paper advocates novel and literal reading of Lévi-Strauss’ early works dealing with questions of kinship in the frame of anthropological theory and structural analysis of systems of meaning.
