DARWIN AMONG US: THE GIVEN WORLD OF COUNTLESS EXPERIENCES

This text discusses the impact of Darwin’s evolution theory on the change of perceiving the world during last 150 years, i. e. since the initial publication On the Origin of Species, as well as the reception of this theory in popular cultural production (novels, films, comics). Special attention is paid to ways in which Darwin’s theory and its general contribution to science are being treated in the system of primary education in contemporary Serbia – also, festivities commemorating the jubilee of the publication of On the Origin of Species in Serbia will be discussed.
