O časopisu

From its first publication in 2006, under the editorship of prof. Bojan Žikić (dept. of Ethnology and Anthropology, University of Philosophy, Belgrade), Anthropology was focused on the historical and contemporary cultural dynamics of modern societies, local and global, publishing articles in English and BCMS (Bosnian-Croatian-Montenegrin-Serbian) languages on themes particular to the discipline. Some - but not all – of the topics explored in the Journal’s publication history are: poetics, politics, and histories of the discipline in Serbia and beyond; theory and methodology in social sciences and humanities; popular and material culture; religion, ethnicity, gender and class; cultural values and social transition; and similar. Occasionally, the Journal collaborates with guest editors, publishing in-depth thematic issues on relevant topics. All published material is available free of charge to the individual users and institutions. Authors receive no payment for published texts, and can make a submission without APC (Article Processing Charge). The Journal provides immediate Open Access to its content in keeping with the principle that freely available research supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Anthropology is published three times a year by the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade and Dosije studio, Belgrade.
