OPOMENA NAJBLIŽEG ROĐAKA: KING KONG I PORODIČNA SRAMOTA

Tema članka je rekonstrukcija onog „neprijatnog srodstva” koje najmanje od osamnaestog veka karakteriše ljudsku percepciju čovekolikih majmuna. Kao pokazni primer savremenih dilema u tom asimetričnom odnosu poslužio je film King Kong, odnosno reakcije koje je izazvao. Tome je posvećen prvi deo rada. U drugom delu se izlaže prirodnonaučna (pra)istorija kolebanja oko kategorisanja majmuna i (ne)priznavanja njihove razvojne povezanosti sa ljudima. U zaključku se sugeriše mogućnost oslobađanja od straha od zajedničkog porekla primata i ukazuje na emancipatorski potencijal vizije „čudovišta” u zaparloženoj industrijskoj kulturi.
