КОНСТРУИСАЊЕ ДРУГОСТИ КАО МИЗАНТРОПИЧАН ПОСТУПАК: ПРИМЕР ТЕЛЕВИЗИЈСКЕ СЕРИЈЕ „МЕТАЛНА ЗВЕЗДА"

Другост представља рефлексивну категорију у поступцима аскрипције и дескрипције идентитета. Културни идентитети конструишу се често не у смислу онога што смо по себи и за себе, већ као оно што нисмо, дакле кроз когнитивно, емотивно и на крају стварно супротстављање нечему. То важи посебно за етничке идентитете, али је присутно и у многим другим случајевима конструкције идентитета, од локалних до навијачких. У основи таквог поступка јесте успостављање неке ми-групе као референтне основе у односу на коју се врши одругојачавање. Оно што важи за бројчано мале такве групе, важи и за оне које су бројчано велике: њима се установљава систем вредности који је кохезивни чинилац постојања дате групе и који омогућава њеним припадницима да се одреде било у односу на остатак света уопште, било у односу на неку другу сличну групу или више њих. Конфликтност према другима појављује се као битна одлика таквог система вредности. Доведено до крајности, испољавање конфликтности може да се сматра као основни елемент мизантропичности конструисања ми-групе, пошто функционише на принципу свесног лишавања њених чланова емпатије кроз дехуманизацију другог, што и чини окосницу поступка одругојачења. Пример на основу којег ће то бити размотрено јесте конструисање нуклеарне породице као ми-групе у британско-канадској телевизијској серији „Метална звезда”. Сврха таквог поступка у попкултурно конструисаним наративима јесте дискурзивно преиспитивање хуманистичке парадигме као моралног оријентира у свакодневном животу у ситуацијама у којима постоји несклад између културног норматива и праксе.
